PETER-SERVICE XRS is designed to automate the processes of roaming data exchange in the NRTRDE format by the corresponding procedure. The product supports TD.35 NRTRDE (NEAR REAL TIME ROAMING DATA EXCHANGE) Format Specification (version 2.1). PETER-SERVICE XRS makes it possible to receive the data on roaming calls much quicker, which helps to promptly reveal the cases of fraud. According to the procedure established by GSMA, the time of roaming data exchange decreases to 4 hours and in the long run must take no more than an hour. Should the visited network fail to provide NRTRDE data within 4 hours, it becomes liable for any losses caused by the fraud of the home network subscribers which occurred because the data on calls related to the fraud cases failed to be delivered. Thus the liability for losses caused by fraud is re-allocated among the home and visited network operators.
PETER-SERVICE XRS runs by the following operating algorithm: non-rated records on roaming calls are delivered from various data sources (such as the visited network operator’s switch or charging gateway). The data on roaming calls are converted to the NRTRDE format and transmitted to the operator of the subscribers’ home network. Having received the NRTRDE data, the home network operator forwards them to its fraud management system that provides the online control over the roaming traffic. PETER-SERVICE XRS performs all the functions necessary for the NRTRDE files transmission and can be used both in visited and home networks.
- Maintenance of the electronic dictionary with data on roaming partners. The dictionary stores all the information necessary for the roaming data exchange. There is a special file created for each roaming partner to save contact details, data on the roaming status as well as the required delivery information. The operator can group its roaming partners and apply common settings for interoperation with each group;
- Generation and delivery of NRTRDE files with data on roaming calls. Before being sent, all NRTRDE files are checked for consistency with the TD.35 requirements;
- Processing of the incoming NRTRDE files with data on roaming calls. The received files are checked for consistency with the TD.35 requirements;
- Generation of the outgoing and handling of the incoming NRTRDE File Delivery Reports and NRTRDE Error Reports. Every day, in response to NRTRDE files sent by the operator, each roaming partner provides an error report and a file delivery report. The reports are stored in the database. Having received NRTRDE files from the roaming partners, PETER-SERVICE XRS generates similar reports and delivers them to the partners;
- Data export to FMS (Fraud Management System);
- An option for editing NRTRDE files;
- Management of the NRTRDE data streams;
- An option for viewing NRTRDE files and the related documents. One can view a list of calls committed to the database;
- Generation of reports on missing files. Using this option, one can get tabular statistical data on missing sequence numbers of incoming and outgoing files (classified by document types) for a reporting month. The generated reports can be exported to an MS Office Excel, HTML or CSV file;
- Generation of reports on non-delivered NRTRDE files. Using this option, one can get tabular statistical data on incoming and outgoing NRTRDE files, for which no delivery confirmation is received. The report can be exported to an MS Office Excel, HTML or CSV file;
- Support for the NRTRDE broker functions, such as transmission of NRTRDE roaming call data through transit and broker roaming directions (this feature is optional).
- PETER-SERVICE XRS establishes timely control over the subscribers’ fraud in roaming and helps to reduce the losses it causes;
- PETER-SERVICE XRS is a standalone product, which is quite important. The NRTRDE data exchange process is critical for the telecom operator business since non-delivery or undue delivery of NRTRDE data can incur financial losses to the visited network operator. Using PETER-SERVICE XRS in the autonomous mode, the operator gains total control over the process of the NRTRDE data exchange;
- PETER-SERVICE XRS makes it possible to promptly change CDR formats and add new formats which may be required when the network equipment is changed or upgraded. Therefore in such cases the operator running PETER-SERVICE XRS does not have to stop the NRTRDE data exchange process and no money is lost;
- The product can be integrated with PETER-SERVICE RSS (Roaming Support System) so that a common reference data dictionary can be maintained and used for exchanging both TAP files (via PETER-SERVICE RSS) and NRTRDE files (via PETER-SERVICE XRS).
