Peter-Service tested convergent billing solution on RDBMS Oracle 10g platform in the IBM Center of Innovations

Peter-Service, the leading Russian developer of billing systems, successfully accomplished stress testing of convergent billing solution on the platform of the new version RDBMS Oracle 10g. The trials were held in the IBM Center of Innovations in Moscow.

14 servers of IBM System p and System x were used during the trials. The results demonstrated total compatibility of PETER-SERVICE BISrt convergent solution with IBM platform, as well as high output of the billing system.

Cluster on the base of two hubs of System P570 with use of Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) technology was used as the server for Converget Billing Solution Database PETER-SERVICE BISrt. System x server and IBM Rational software were used for generation of loads on system and gathering operation factors of productivity. The trials verified possibilities of flexible control of the load and its balancing along with the wide opportunities for system ranging.

Oracle RAC technology is not just giving the alternative way of hardware extension, but also allows to reduce greatly the expenses of telecommunications company on the new equipment and is granting wide possibilities for building reliable systems which can stand any crash.

The trials were held on the new version of Oracle Database – 10g (Release 2). The results proved full compatibility of PETER-SERVICE BISrt convergent solution with the version underlined above and demonstrated the high productivity. Launch of the new version of Oracle Database 10g Release 2, in it’s turn, enhance potential for the developers of billing solutions as well as for administrators of those systems.
