Peter-Service – a leading Russian developer of billing and CRM solutions for telecom operators successfully accomplished testing of its convergent billing solution PETER-SERVICE BISrt for the subscribers’ capacity of 16 mln. This time tests were held at the IBM Products & Solutions Support Center in Montpellier, France. IBM System p5 595 servers with POWER5+ processor were used as the database and application servers.
PETER-SERVICE BISrt is intended for automation of business processes of telecom operators and is a complex of products and options, which allow servicing both prepaid and contract subscribers using one single convergent billing solution.
It was the first test of efficiency of BISrt under loads similar to 16 mln subscribers base and also test of efficiency and productivity estimate of the cluster DBMS ORACLE 10.2 with RAC option. Tests have proven high productivity and full compliance of PETER-SERVICE BISrt with IBM System P servers.

Testing configuration:
- Database servers: cluster of two servers IBM System p5 595 with 64 POWER5+ processors, 256 Gb RAM, working under ОС AIX 5.3, with parallel file system GPFS;
- Disk Storage: Storage system IBM System Storage DS8300 (336 HDD 146 Gb each, 15K RPM, 256 Gb, 8 of 64 fiber channel ports were used to connect to servers).
- Applications servers: IBM System p5 595, divided into 7 logic partitions (LPARs), with 4 to 16 POWER5+ processors, OS RedHat Enterprise Linux 4.4
- Load generation system: 15 blade-servers IBM BladeCenter HS21.
