Peter-Service, Russia’s market leader in billing and CRM solutions for the telecommunications industry, has successfully carried out the next phase of testing for their analytical data warehouse solution PETER-SERVICE CRM DWH, which features a subscriber base capacity of 12 million. The tests were conducted on SUN hardware in Edinburgh, Scotland. PETER-SERVICE CRM DWH is an analytical data warehouse, which renders and stores converted data from other operating environments, particularly those from the OLTP system BISrt.

In engineering the load tests for the analytical data warehouse PETER-SERVICE CRM_DWH (5 year storage history), a Sun Fire E25K - 72CPU UltraSPARC IV server was used, which was comprised of 144 cores x 1.95Ghz, 57 6GB RAM, 38 x 2Gb/s FC, Solaris 10, ORACLE 10.2.0.3 EE, a Sun StorageTek 9990 Disk Array with a 496 x 146 G10K HDD, and a 64GB cache. "At the time of testing, we made new breakthroughs on the basis of previous PETER-SERVICE CRM DWH tests, which made it possible to reduce the total run-time of ETL (Extract Transform Load), i.e. the extraction process which transforms and loads daily and monthly data into the warehouse from the operating systems. ETL time, as well as the execution time in calculating metrics, is used to measure the performance of companies that meet industry expectations," said Alexei Mishulovin, Load Testing Chief.
