PETER-SERVICE SBMS subscriber base management system

Purpose

The Subscriber Base Management System PETER-SERVICE SBMS is designed to create an all-in-one service environment by way of integrating different billing and prepaid systems within a single telecom operator or between branch offices (subsidiaries) of a telecom operator.

Brief Description

With the Subscriber Base Management System PETER-SERVICE SBMS, a branch office (subsidiary) of the telecom operator can serve not only its own subscribers but subscribers of any other branch office (subsidiary). Also, the system enables centralized provision of services to large corporate customers who have subscribers in billing systems scattered across different regions. In addition, the PETER SERVICE SBMS allows for the flexible and easy redistribution of front office functions between the customer service and dealers of the telecom operator.

The Subscriber Base Management System PETER-SERVICE SBMS consists of branches’ servers and a central node. Branches’ servers directly interact with each other. The central node provides coordination of interaction between the branches' servers and executes control functions. Data is exchanged via HTTP/HTTPS.

Each branch's server is implemented based on a multi-tier distributed architecture, consisting of Apache web server, High-Performance Application Server PETER-SERVICE HAS, billing or prepaid system (for example, PETER-SERVICE BIS).

Options

  • Arrangement of interaction between regional billing systems;
  • Provision of services to subscribers on the territory of any regional branch office;
  • Coordination of interaction between regional branch offices and settlement of accounts between them.

Supporting the Provision of Services to Subscribers

In order to arrange for the provision of services to subscribers, the Subscriber Base Management System PETER-SERVICE SBMS enables the user to perform the following functions:

  • Register new customers and subscribers;
  • Receive payments from customers and dealers, sell commodities from the warehouse;
  • Integrate with external payment systems, which makes it possible to receive payments from different sources (card platforms, ATMs, e-payment systems);
  • Serve subscribers (manage services, change rate plans, replace SIM cards, etc.);
  • Serve national corporate customers.

Coordinating Interaction Between Regional Branch Offices

For the purpose of centralized management of branches’ servers, the Subscriber Base Management System PETER-SERVICE SBMS allows to:

  • Maintain common reference information and send it to branches' servers;
  • Collect data on distributed payment receipt transactions performed by branches, check the collected data for consistency and completeness and notify branch offices about mismatched transactions;
  • Settle accounts between branch offices.

Advantages

  • Decentralized control that enables the system to keep running even if one of its nodes fails;
  • Scalability that gives the system the ability to handle growing amounts of data in a graceful manner;
  • High performance, enabled through many channels at the input of the front-end interface and interfaces that provide interaction of the PETER-SERVICE SBMS with databases of external subscriber service systems;
  • Fault-tolerant architecture that enables the PETER-SERVICE SBMS to continue operating properly 24 hours a day;
  • Unified architecture for all web applications that enables flexible control over users’ access to operations of the PETER-SERVICE SBMS and user interface elements;
  • Capability to integrate with different external subscriber service systems;
  • Capability to concurrently interact with several subscriber service systems.
